For chatting, we recommend a chatmail relay instead of a classic email provider.

If you run your own mail server, the most reliable way to make it work with email clients is to publish an autoconfig file at /.well-known/autoconfig/mail/config-v1.1.xml on your domain.

To set up a profile with a third-party classic email provider, you may need the "advanced settings" during profile creation. Please consult your provider for the required server settings.

iCloud Mail

Needs preparation.

To use your iCloud email address it is required to generate a specific password for it. Afterwards you can use your iCloud email address and the newly created password.

When using a Custom Email Domain hosted on iCloud+ you need to:

fill in the address you want to use in the “E-Mail Adress” field,
fill in your iCloud login email in “Advanced > IMAP Login Name” and “Advanced > SMTP Login Name”, and
fill “Advanced > IMAP Server” with “imap.mail.me.com” and “Advanced > SMTP Server” with “smtp.mail.me.com”.
